Etymology
According to 11th-century CE writer Ouyang Xiu, the surname originated with 4th-century BCE Prince 蹄 (Tí) of Yue, who settled on the southern face (陽/阳 (yáng)) of 歐餘山/欧余山 (Ōuyúshān, “mountain in Huzhou”).
