Etymology
From Middle Armenian թարմ (tʻarm), from Proto-Indo-European *tr̥-mo-, from the zero-grade of the root *ter- + the suffix *-mo- (whence -մ (-m)). Among the cognates J̌ahukyan compares especially Albanian trim, Latin termes (“cut-off branch”), Ancient Greek τεράμων (terámōn, “becoming soft by boiling”).
